Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to introduce a maternity care van service to offer timely assistance in critical cases of pregnancy. Initially, two fully-equipped vehicles will be available on call 24X7.
The standing committee of the civic body approved the proposal on Tuesday. The proposal had been approved by PMC’s women and child welfare committee last week. Nearly Rs20 lakh will be diverted from other works in the budget for the maternity care vans.
