Ten months after Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) took charge of the 11villages merged into the city limits, its city improvement committee chairman, Sushil Mengade, has declared that there is little or no space left for development of these villages due to rampant illegal constructions. He has demanded that a development plan be quickly drawn up so amenity reservations can be effected in whatever space remains in the villages. However, villagers term this claim as a hogwash by PMC officials to avoid taking up the development work they are supposed to.
