Metro work cuts into BSNL’s lines

Around 3,000 lines of the public sector telecom giant — Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) — have been snapped or damaged by the ongoing metro rail work on Paud Road. Residents and commercial establishments in the area complain that they have been getting interrupted service, be it the landline or internet connectivity, for three months now. BSNL officials say the damages will cost the utility Rs 5 crore to set right.
